Since its release, Mount Adams has already drawn significant attention online. The film immediately appeared in the top 5,000 of the IMDb MOVIEmeter’s Most Popular Movies chart and has stayed there for two consecutive weeks. It peaked at 3,240 on the list, while the Mount Adams trailers have amassed over 60,000 views on YouTube in less than two weeks. Both milestones are noteworthy feats for an independent production.

Glen (Tim Wade) and Lily (Emily Sweet, Netflix’s Hostage House) are content creators who investigate unexplainable activity. Their next expedition is to Mount Adams, where locals claim to see weird red lights and strange demon-looking creatures terrorizing the mountain once a year. When Glen, Lily, and their team go camping during the fateful night, they come to discover the terrifying truth about what happens on Mount Adams.

Moore reveals that the most powerful members of the Pan German League were armaments maker, Gustav Krupp and his former managing director and founder of the League, Alfred Hugenberg. They were determined to turn defeat in the First World War into victory. In the 1920s, while Krupp made armaments in Sweden and Holland and developed close ties with the Bolsheviks in Russia, Alfred Hugenberg became a media mogul and powerful politician.

Germany had finished the First World War with twice as much gold in the Reichsbank as in 1914. By 1928, the country had a powerful industrial economy and the former Pan-Germans also had money secreted abroad in various military projects. Nevertheless, millions of German people voted for pacifism and socialism in the 1928 elections. Ex-Krupp director Alfred Hugenberg decided that only way to persuade them to vote for a dictatorship like Mussolini’s in Italy was through plunging the country into depression.

Moore reveals how Hugenberg’s political maneuvers over the negotiations for the Young Plan reparations agreement – including putting Adolf Hitler on his petition to try the President of the Weimar Republic for treason for accepting the Young Plan – brought Hitler into public consciousness and helped cause the Wall Street crash.

In 1930 and 1931, Krupp’s evil intrigues in Russia sabotaged the world wheat economy and persuaded the German Communists to vote with the Far Right in the Reichstag. Meanwhile the German people were hit with increased taxation and lower wages. Six million became unemployed while their country was one of the world’s top exporters. In desperation they turned to Hitler.

How Hitler came to Power is already being studied in Britain’s Exeter University. It needs to reach a wider audience. ‘If readers reach the same conclusion as I have about the evil machinations of armaments maker Krupp and his cohorts, I hope that they will speak out to condemn their activities so that Europeans are never again plunged into depression to discredit democracy.’ Says Moore.

Seeking Zen in a Post-Pandemic 3PL Market

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN, UNITED STATES, August 31, 2021 / — According to Armstrong & Associates, Inc. (A&A’s) newest report, “Seeking Zen: A Post-Pandemic 3PL Market – Latest Third-Party Logistics Market Results and Predictions for 2021 Including Estimates for 190 Countries” the volatile 2020 U.S. COVID-driven Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Market created growth opportunities for Third-Party Logistics Providers (3PLs) with strong carrier management, e-commerce, and air freight forwarding capabilities, while other 3PLs did not fare as well. After having a lackluster 2019 when we saw a year-over-year decline in transportation activity as import tariffs took hold, we awoke to a pandemic nightmare in March of 2020 with vast economic shutdowns. There was no time like the present for logistics expertise, and 3PL prevailed as an essential industry.

Leading all 3PL segments for revenue growth in 2020 was International Transportation Management (ITM) which consists of air and ocean freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and complementary value-added services. Air freight revenues swelled in 2020 with the pandemic and extraordinary demand for PPE. With commercial passenger aircraft making up approximately 40% of total air cargo capacity, the pandemic upended air freight forwarding, and rates surged albeit on lower overall volumes.

Overall, ITM realized a 19.2% gross revenue gain in 2020 expanding to $70 billion. While having a lower growth rate than overall gross revenue, due to a tight carrier capacity market, net revenue increased a healthy 11.4% to $24.6 billion.

The asset-heavy Dedicated Contract Carriage (DCC) 3PL segment had the second highest net revenue growth of the four 3PL segments with just 0.3% to $20 billion. Gross revenue declined 2%. The negative effect of COVID made 2020 a volatile and lower-volume year versus 2019 when DCC net revenues grew 12.1%.

The non-asset based Domestic Transportation Management (DTM) segment includes Freight Brokerage which is 83% of segment revenues and Managed Transportation which accounts for 17%. In 2020, 3PLs scrambled to find carrier capacity to meet shipper demand. Gross revenue increased 9.9% to $91.2 billion, but net revenue decreased 1.8% to $13.2 billion as volatility in motor carrier capacity quickly increased spot market rates compressing segment gross margins by 1.7%.

Rapid growth in e-commerce fulfillment could not offset the loss of business-to-business related activity as overall revenues for the Value-Added Warehousing and Distribution (VAWD) 3PL segment sagged in 2020 versus its 9% growth 2019. VAWD net revenues declined 1.1% to $35.7 billion.

Total 3PL segment net revenues (gross revenues less purchased transportation) grew 2.1% to $93.5 billion reflecting gross margin compression due to a volatile carrier sourcing market and transportation management 3PLs spending more to secure hard-to-find carrier capacity. The overall gross margin for all segments declined from 44% to 41%.

Global Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Market revenues reached $962 billion in 2020 resulting in a meager 0.1% increase over 2019 versus the U.S. 3PL Market which saw 8.8% year-over-year growth. As with the U.S., the ITM segment led the way due to COVID-19 response.

Survey: Married People are Unprepared for the Financial Impact of Divorce

My Divorce Solution survey reveals the perceptions—and misperceptions—of divorce in America. The financial impact of not knowing the facts can be significant.

LANDHORNE, PENNSYLVANIA, USA, August 31, 2021 / — A nationwide survey on the perception of divorce through the lens of married people shows some common themes: People are unaware of the financial elements of divorce and split when it comes to who they would turn to in the event of a divorce proceeding. And people still don’t talk freely about divorce.

More than 76 percent of respondents believe people may stay in unhealthy marriages because of financial concerns, yet less than 6 percent say consulting a financial advisor or CPA is a step toward divorce.

The online survey, sponsored by My Divorce Solution and conducted in early summer 2021, garnered insights from several hundred married people in the United States across gender, age range, income levels, and geographic areas to get a broad understanding of how married Americans view divorce.

Here are some of the main findings:

-Less than one out of three respondents believe they would be prepared to take on the financial responsibilities of divorce

-People seem a bit more prepared to figure out who gets the home if they split (44% said they likely know what would happen to their home or property)

-Only one in five respondents say divorce is talked about freely in their families or even among friends

-Answers were mixed when it comes to which professional to turn to when considering divorce (marriage counselor and attorney were essentially tied at 38%). Less than 6% surveyed considered a financial advisor or CPA as a top priority

-Nearly one out of three respondents believe an attorney is required throughout the entire divorce process (they are only needed for certain elements)

-More than 43% of people thought each spouse would only spend $5k to $10k throughout a divorce; 36% said $10k to $25k

-While the average cost for divorce at the national level is $15k, it can be much higher for contested divorces

-76% of respondents responded yes or maybe when asked if they believe people stay in unhealthy marriages because they are unaware of the financial impact of divorce

-87% percent said people may make decisions about divorce on the belief it would damage their children

“This survey reveals some of what we’ve experienced working with our clients,” said Catherine Shanahan, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, mediator, and co-founder of My Divorce Solution. “Divorce is a painful life transition, and it catches people in the most vulnerable state. When I see my clients in this state, my main goal is to encourage them not to react to or make hasty decisions that negatively impact their divorce outcomes.”

Divorce is a $50 billion industry in the U.S. alone, and far too often couples are pressured into making decisions out of fear or anxiety. That is why Shanahan and co-founder Karen Chellew, a longtime legal liaison and entrepreneur, sought to change that when they started My Divorce Solution. 2. What inspired you to write these two books? I wrote these books because there was so much going on with the George Floyd situation and my mother of 4 boys. I wanted to allow them to see African Americans that changed the world vs. seeing so many African Americans being gunned down by those sworn in to serve and protect. Also, I wanted to pinpoint the positivity in the black community. I hope that readers will feel motivated and inspired to do the same.

3. What's the mission of these books? The mission of these books is to leave readers with an image of black success, hoping that it will plant a seed and let them know that they can be anything they desire to be if they believe in themselves.

4. Why do you think black boys and black girls doubt themselves? I think we as African Americans doubt ourselves because of the image society has painted for us. The media would instead show African Americans that have caused crimes. The music in our community only seems to glorify the negative in our communities; being young, seeing, and hearing that, shapes the way we view ourselves. I also believe that when you are young and hear things like "First black," It has the reverse effect than what is intended. It makes young people feel almost impossible to achieve because few people look like them have.

5. Any plans to expand this series? I plan to grow my African American book collection because our babies need to see and hear about themselves doing remarkable things in the world.

6. Have you published any other books? I have six books self-published all together. However, I have four books that will launch this year. I am hoping they could get picked up by a traditional publishing company

7. How can reading empower children? When you start reading young, it plants seeds of greatness and intellect within you. I believe that literacy allows you to take action in your life, and it will open the door to opportunities that others might not be able to access.

8. What would you say to a child who does not like reading? I would ask them how do they know that? I dreaded reading and writing; I felt like it was too time-consuming, but in all honesty, I had never given it a chance. I was going off my lack of knowledge.

9. Years from now, what would you like people to say about your book and the impact it had on them? I want people to tell me that my book was one of the driving factors that caused them to love the skin therein and to know that greatness is within them if they believe they can achieve it.

I am a single parent of 5 that survived domestic violence, a first-generation college graduate, first-generation author and the first in my family to move away from my hometown with hopes of giving my young African American children more opportunity and allow them to see the success in the African American community here in Atlanta.
